Keys to success
Successful students come to class every day, participate wholeheartedly with their flight, wear the AFJROTC uniform and physical training uniform when required, and are prepared with all materials and tasks ready when they walk into the room.
Class Policies: All policies published in the MMHS Student/Parent Handbook are followed.
Expectations - Consequences
Attendance/Tardiness/Truancy: Daily attendance is essential for individual academic success and for class teams to work effectively in Miramesaology. Students who arrive more than 29 min. late are marked absent and may be considered truant. Students must call a team member to be updated on the work of the team, to get a copy of any class notes and to receive any new assignments. Copies of handouts can be obtained from a team member or from the handout folder located on the "Keeping in Informed" bulletin board. Assessments and assignments must be completed within 2 days after returning to MMHS. (Refer to Attendance Regulations/Tardy/Truancies Policies in the student handbook).
Honesty: Students are expected to be honest and trustworthy in all their endeavors. Students must abide by the MMHS Internet acceptable use agreement. Plagiarism or cheating in any form is not acceptable. Plagiarism or cheating will result in a grade of zero for the assignment.
Classroom policies: MMHS students are respectful and aware of themselves, all other persons, the classroom and all the materials in the classroom.
Laboratory policies: To insure student safety and to maintain a clean and orderly environment that promotes learning MMHS students are respectful and aware. MMHS students follow directions and use equipment appropriately. Students must sign and abide by the Laboratory safety contract.
Homework/Assignments: Most assignments are submitted as a word document, PowerPoint presentation or video clip on line through e-mail to the instructor. Some units require oral recitations or dramatic presentations. The group leader submits group projects.
It is important for students to complete assignments and projects on time. No late work will be accepted.
Additional Class Policies: Letters, to be signed by parents, explaining classroom rules, fees, AFJROTC uniforms, physical training uniforms, and an AFJROTC Physical Health Screening Questionnaire were sent home during the first week of school or when the student enrolled in AFJROTC.
